Neurology Consultant, P.A. is made up of a team of professionals dedicated to providing the best quality healthcare in a responsive and caring environment. Our doctors all have years of experience in the profession. They work in concert with nurses and office staff who try to understand your health issues quickly and apply the right treatment to get you back to your optimal health.  All our professionals at Neurology Consultant, P.A. maintain the highest levels of accreditation and pursue ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest trends in health care.

  • Dr. Samina Anwar

    Dr. Samina Anwar, MD is a Neurology Specialist in Hagerstown, MD and has over 34 years of experience in the medical field. She is a board-certified member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

     She graduated from Dow Med College University of Karachi Pakistan medical school in 1988, ranking in the top 5% of her class. She completed her neurology residencies at the Stony Brook University Hospital and North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System in New York. She also did her Fellowship at North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System where her training included extensive exposure to EEG, evoked potentials, tele-monitoring, pre-surgical evaluation of patients, intractable epilepsy management of patients and research activities. Her fellowship training was in Epilepsy and Neurophysiology. She has been practicing in the Hagerstown area since 2000. Dr. Anwar has extensive experience in Headache, Epilepsy, Stroke and Neurodegenerative Disorders.

    She is affiliated with Meritus Medical Center, winner of the Stroke Care Excellence Award. Dr. Anwar is the Chief of the Neurology department and Director of the Stroke Program. She is also sharing an on-call rotation with local neurologists seeing patients in the hospital for neurological emergencies.

    • “Dilantin Toxicity in HIV patients” A retrospective review of eight cases seen in Stony Brook Hospital in New York from July 1992- June 1994.
    • “Familial Multiple Sclerosis” An epidemiological review, Co-Author at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York.
    • “Role of Plasmapheresis in acute Gullian-Barre Syndrome” A literature review presented at neurology seminar at Stony Brook University in New York.
    • “GEM Study” A study with Johns Hopkins University examining the role of Gingko Biloba for the treatment of Dementia.
  • Dr. Hussaina Saria, M.D.

    Dr. Hussaina Saria, M.D. is a Clinical Neurophysiologist and Epileptologist in Hagerstown, recently moving from California. She is a board-certified member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She joined the practice of Neurology Consultant, PA, in August 2021.

    She received her medical degree from Sind Medical College, of Karachi Pakistan, and has been in practice for more than 20 years. She completed her neurology residency at the University of New Mexico, then completed her epilepsy fellowship at the University of Texas, Houston and at Barrow Neurological Institute, Phoenix. She completed her neuromuscular fellowship at the University of California in San Diego. She specializes in Neurology and Neuromuscular Medicine, but she sub-specializes in adult epilepsy and neuromuscular disorders. She has a special interest in treating patients with intractable epilepsy.

    She was an assistant professor at the University of New Mexico where she served as director of intraoperative monitoring unit and co-director of comprehensive, level 4, epilepsy center. She had the honor of training many medical students, medical residents and fellows.

  • Said S. Dahbour, MD, FAAN

    Said S. Dahbour, MD, FAAN, has joined the practice of Neurology Consultant, PA. Treating patients alongside Samina Anwar, M.D. and Hussaina Saria, M.D. He will be seeing patients at the office and Meritus Medical Center. He is American board certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology.

    Dr. Dahbour has over 30 years of medical experience. He did his neurology residency at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) and fellowship in Epilepsy and Neurophysiology at New York University (NYU) Medical Center. Most recently worked as attending neurologist and professor at Jordan Faculty of Medicine University Hospital and senior consulting neurologist at Jordan Faculty of Medicine University Hospital, a 700-bed, tertiary care hospital. He has published multiple research studies in that time along with teaching.

     
    He is a general adult neurologist treating multiple neurological disorders such as, but not limited to, Dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, Seizures, Headache/Migraine, Neuropathy, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, Gillian Barre Syndrome, Transverse Myelitis, and many more. Dr. Dahbour also is experienced performing NCS/EMG’s, EEG’s and Botox injections for neurological disorders.
